    UNBIASED A***YSIS INCOMING:

forget the stan wars let's actually talk about why these are the numbers.

1: A single week of promo. knew it was gonna perform like a mixtape when he announced it same week.

2: speaking of mixtape, this album has a mixtape vibe. from jim carrey to the radio commercial, this adds to the experience but takes away from the "grand"-ness of a regular album. didn't feel like something everyone had to listen to: like donda/clb.

3: No big single. Take My Breath underperformed. Personally I thought it was mid, but now I love it. unfortunately it never got that big, and we haven't got any other single since then. (Roddy did the same thing and his album underperformed as well)

4: Fan split. Some people want the "trilogy vibes" some people want the dance records. this is gonna be something weeknd will always deal with but people dismissed this album because of the lack of "dark" songs that even after hours had.

im jus bored and actually like thinking about marketing alright that's it from me, risky out.

    Single week of promo
Single released weeks or months? Prior with the project title revealed and new era teased in weekly tweets

    Pick one

riskyone is right, I think calling this a mixtape would have been better move for the Weeknd tbh

    it's already setup like one

XO stans entering a new arc too

From chart watching and "Abel's the biggest artist since MJ/Prince" to "He doesn't make music for casual plebs"

I love when they say DawnFM is so experimental

releasing 1 single months prior is a bad idea

    ANOTHER EXAMPLE:

Roddy Ricch only dropped "Late at Night" way back in july, and teased his album for months, only for it to underperform.

An artist should be dropping a single a week or 2 before the album honestly.

I'm not tryna make excuses cause i dont give af i'm just the a***yzer

The Weeknd made the Dawn so it would be easier for me to get floor seats cause trilogy fans mad at him

Idk what the hold up but they need to make the stream the main unit and sales can contribute to that somehow not the other way around

Fair but it’s still not one week of promo, this had more of a rollout than that

Do you think the Weeknd is invested in Dogecoin or bitcoin ?

yeah sure but if you pee in the shower always make sure to do it closer to the back because if you do it towards the front it makes it like puddle up towards the drain i guess it doesn't make a huge difference but if just seems nastier that way

The album is going to have longevity, really doubt Abel cares that much about first week sales when he didn’t even release physicals.

this does NOT have a mixtape feel at all? It’s extremely cinematic and flows cohesively. Are you gonna call every Avalanches record a mixtape now? Also stop the one week promo he’s been teasing it for months prior.
