This is the list of most streamed albums of the year on SPotify. Bear in mind Bieber literally slays every streaming platform in asia which adds up to probably over a billion streams which isn't included on here as it's just spotify. It would take too long to count those up

The Weeknd should've never did those bundles, it will always leave an asterisk on the After Hours era even if the music was great. I think he used to care about numbers but after the success of Blinding Lights he's content. Otherwise he'd put out 10 The Hills and call that an album. His album discography has always had elements of 80's nostalgia in it from Kiss Land to now so I don't believe he leaned into it more for sales. He could've gave us After Hours 2 if he wanted its companion album to be just as big, but he didn't. He actually has a love for synthwave and Dawn FM is him being more experimental with it. Why else would he drop Take My Breath in the middle of the Ye/Drake debacle? He was excited to show off what he created.

Scorpion had over 1B streams on Apple Music alone 1 month after release, not sure what cherry-picking streaming service data means on its own.

Justice is only doing 1m streams (7m to drakes 7.9m) less a day despite coming out 6 months earlier. It's simply a bigger album and it's the 2nd biggest of globally, maybe 3rd if Adele did enough to overtake him but I doubt it.

When was the last time drake had a hit as big as peaches and stay that came out in 2021? Stay is the fastest song in history to reach 1.3b streams. Also, Purpose has more streams than any drake album.

btw I love drake and he is way bigger than Bieber in the US at the moment but people on this site are way too skewed to that one market to realize there's 7.7 billion people outside of that place that also consumes music

Seems you're talking solely about the radio world where the only thing that matters is those cheap hits, which is what Dua/Bieber are great at atm and Drake/Weeknd avoided on their recent albums

On radio Dua is definitely bigger than Drake/Taylor/Weeknd but fact of the matter is if all 4 artists dropped an album tonight Drake's will be getting the most streams first week. I'd bet any amount of money on that.

i think bieb's biggest advantage is Asia, just like it is for Ed Sheeran. Because people in that area of the world are obsessed with cheap soft pop songs. But no one has provided numbers yet
