That's a really high deductible op, does it come with an HSA and does your employer match contributions to it?

I'm at my first job with health insurance now and I was doing the HSA plan at first, but only like $20 per pay period because they don't match. Now it's end of the year open enrollment and I switched to a lower deductible plan with much better coverage, and it comes out to the same price per pay period when I factored in how much I was putting into the HSA.

We should really all be growing our HSA but unless your company matches and you take home enough every month to make decent contributions (think enough to cover the full deductible e.g. $6000 in like 2 years) then it's just drops in the bucket and you're better off going with a plan that has more coverage until getting a job with high pay and employer contribution match.

Are you shopping at healthcare.gov marketplace? They can offer HMO plans and maybe even PPOs and if you meet a certain salary level I think they even cover some of the cost to you, like how an employer would.

Don't worry about HSA, I just thought your insurance was from a job and usually high deductible plans are tied with an HSA. It's like a 401k to save some of your paycheck from being taxed at the end of the year.

That goforwad thing looks cool. I have a feeling it's expensive from how nice their website is though.

If you're young and healthy going no insurance is an option too, but do try to get on insurance when financially possible or look for a job with insurance. Dental and vision too

they usually have $0 sign ups and it's $150/month i believe?

i haven't but i'll be using it again when i'm in san francisco

it seems like a great value in that they do full body MRIs, STD tests, blood tests etc

i would def check them out, they have walk ins too

the plans you listed regarding USA med system plans are such a scam man. $100 a month and you're still paying over $6,000 out of pocket? the US is f***ed
