It opens a door you never knew existed. You’re taught your whole life you make money from your salary or by living paycheck to paycheck with no real significant big increase in your networth until the day you die. Buying and selling stocks is amazing “B” side money you can keep in the background that grows and grows over time with something like an index fund (you invest in a pool of the most popular s&p 500 stocks) or playing the market right could net you your salary + more in a half even a quarter of the time it would take you working a 9-5.
