Do you have any evidence that citadel actually colluded with robinhood? Just wondering lmfao

do you have any evidence that they didn’t

Cause I’m sure as s*** not about to take the Wall Street execs and funds that stand to lose billions and have a significant stake in Robinhood at face value on this

Half the brokers weren't allowing people to buy BECAUSE the markets were volatile, before-hand.

People on other platforms that didn't have SEC regulation issues like robinhood. This is an easy question to answer

They went at Robinhood for a reason. Gateway investment app that the “regular buyer” likely uses. Over 60% of Robinhood’s user base had GME shares

Ah okay yes let's spread conspiracy theories when we don't have evidence because we don't believe statements of companies that operate in one of the most highly regulated business environments on the planet.

    Exactly

And are we gonna pretend like Robinhood hasn’t acted as a way to get more stupid day traders into the market to boost profits either lol

    Highly regulated my ass
They shorted a stock over 100% and have literally infinite liability

This is the same “highly regulated” industry that almost cause an entire financial sector collapse in 08 because they were breaking and turning a blind eye to these “strict” regulations with credit default swaps

  • Jan 29, 2021

prob a big reason they closed is RH does instant settling (through margin) instead of 2 day clearinghouse

Stock market has to change, unlike crypto where you can trade 24/7. Somehow some people can trade and make money all night long , meanwhile we have to watch the price climb or drop.

Are the retail investors the ones driving the price AH?

    Thats what confuses me

08 is waaaayyyy more nuanced than that, the US government had just as large a role as people in finance

You're also changing the topic, I agree that shorting a stock over 100% is f***ed up, I'm referencing people pulling conspiracy theories out of their ass about citadel and robinhood, it's hilarious

You were the one who started talking about how these conspiracy theories are baseless because the industry is so regulated
    That’s clearly not the case
S*** half of US Congress insider traded publicly and have had f*** all repercussions

If you think it’s remotely out of the question that the giant hedge fund losing billions played a part in today then idk what to tell you
