Winter will be upon us and there are tons of people w/o a place of shelter.
Having a background in carpentry, I really want to create shelters for those in need. In my city, the laws are really bad at taking care of the homeless. Regardless, the plan moving forward is to begin design shelters because it should be everyone’s right to be sheltered and nourished.

If anyone has any design ideas pertaining to sustainability, plumbing, farming etc. please help solve this issue.

Vets and homeless people like real homeless people, need to be taken care of.

There are specifically 3 homeless people that I see on a weekly basis, it pisses me off how this world just shuns these people life.

It’s more than just giving people water n food. That stability of 4 walls is just so important.

The fact that our tax dollars are going towards roads, bike lanes and funding perpetual wars why aren’t we truly providing a better tomorrow?

With all the “tuition and free $” college obtains from athletes, why don’t they take 5-10 homeless people and place them in college until they get their associates?

Tried to get some of the homeless people around my job a job at my company. They don't want to work and some even cursed me out. Kinda hard to feel bad. Everyone falls on hard times. Laziness keeps the hard times coming

Slightly off topic, but some of the best items you can give homeless people are socks (#1 actually), paper towels/toilet paper, hand sanitizer, gloves and beanies.

I hear you OP. It's a shame really. I've asked myself those questions before but we have to take matters into our own hands to help who we can. You are a kind person OP. Don't let the world take you away from you. We need more people like you

It’s hard to help homeless people because many of the visible ones have severe mental illness such that they may refuse help. And the people that do desperately need the help are not as visible because they’re hiding or working or otherwise not physically in the street in plain sight

That being said good on you OP

Yes, agreed there are people who are content with their lifestyle and will weed them out for the most part. This is more so catered towards those that have been displaced for one matter or another. Lost their home, disability, etc. They’re wanting to do better for themselves but aren’t in a living situation that allows growth.

There are so many kids that drop outta school simply because they’re homeless or their living situation isn’t the best. They then lose the chance for college or to pursue their life’s calling.

Overall I’m unsure of either building a house, converting a preexisting building into a living space or purchasing some acres and building a community.

Tiny homes might b a solution, as I don’t want for people to abuse the idea. Rather have order to this concept than an all inclusive system that would backfire.
Going to keep brainstorming, there has to b something. There's a right way to do this.
