EDIT: This is not about WHEN the artist was popular; this is about the artists ACTUAL age generation, so you idiots stop saying "boomer" to anything pre 2000:
Not sure why this is hard for other users to figure out but here is an actual chart for generations (and not sure why this even matters besides people saying boomer and stuff).
Generations:
1946-1964 = Baby Boomer: This is what people started using an insult to the older artists and what they consider "old people" which makes no sense to call a 17 year old user a boomer because they listen to Jay-Z or have dust-head opinions:
Baby Boomer Rap Artists/Producers Examples:
Gen X Rappers Examples:
Millennial Rappers Examples:
Gen Z Rappers Examples:
@Beast_Barz Here you go stop embarrassing yourself bro
If carti is in millennial, why isn’t yachty? Didn’t yachty blow up on the world stage first? He was in a damn sprite commercial
I think it gets more complex than this
I can't get behind putting Carti and Drake in the same gen

There's different microgenerations.
1992-1998 is considered "Zillennials", 1978-1982 is considered "Xennials".
What if someone is like Peeway Longway/Money Man who are 35/36 years old but they are popular in the 10's

Yachty is technically Gen Z. (He was born '97) but generations are more of a spectrum. Like I said: Zillennials are a mix of Z/Millennials on the cusp born from '92-'98, so they both mix in together.

That's just when he got popular.
Wayne should be a Gen X on this chart.
is he? Thought he was born in '82.

Are you illiterate, read the post? I was making this to side with you.
I was supporting what you are saying that "boomer" insult is stupid and makes no sense.
is he? Thought he was born in '82.
Ahh, are you strictly going off of their ages?
Ahh, are you strictly going off of their ages?
Even then he's wrong
Rakim a whole decade older than Ye
how is Carti a millennial rapper? because of when he's born?
nah, millennial rappers is like Kanye, 50, Ross, TI, Jeezy, Gucci, etc. as a millennial, those are the guys i listened to during middle/high school
Carti, Uzi, and that ilk are Gen Z tbh

stop backtracking. you knew exactly what you were doing with that post.
Even then he's wrong
Rakim a whole decade older than Ye
I’m confused now
Edit: no longer confused
Rakim isn't from the same gen as Kanye lmao.. wtf is going on here
Rakim - Born: January 28, 1968 (age 52 years)
Kanye - Born: June 8, 1977 (age 42 years)
They're both Gen X, or Kanye is a Xennial (Mix of Gen X and Millennial)
Ahh, are you strictly going off of their ages?
Yeah, this is about their birth years. This has nothing to do with when they were popular.

This is NOT based on when they are popular, this is their birth years. We could conclude a whole different thread of rappers for different generations. Because I agree, Rakim and Kanye are not popular during the same times.
