"Imperial phase
The imperial phase is the point in which an artist is regarded at their commercial and creative peak simultaneously."
This term was defined by the great Neil Tennant from the Pet Shop Boys, and he also stated that ibce you cross the imperial phase, you will have a faithful fan base that will follow you no matter what changes you make to your music, and also lose people you gained during your imperial phase due to the artist making risks.
What do you think was Kanye's imperial phase? Did it already happened?
TLOP was his biggest album, right?
But the sales are weird because of the tidal s***
His last albums def look like a decline to everyone
Its just that if he spent more time on them they couldve been goat too
Just his focus elsewhere
Grad, obviously
Creative peak????????????????????????????????????????
Possibly
Commercial without a doubt
Yeezus doesn't exist to y'all?
Yeezus is one of his best (to me top 2)
But:
regarded at their commercial and creative peak simultaneously."
Thats not his commercial peak at all bro

The reason why I chose Yeezus was because the Imperial part says
"you will have a faithful fan base that will follow you no matter what changes you make to your music, and also lose people you gained during your imperial phase due to the artist making risks."

??
„and he also stated that once you cross the imperial phase, you will have a faithful fan base that will follow you no matter what“
The imperial phase is your commercial/ creative peak

Well, that's easy... Graduation
Graduation was his most successful, MBDTF was his most creative as for both I’m not sure
TLOP was his biggest album, right?
But the sales are weird because of the tidal s***
Graduation was 3 times as big
MBDTF was 3 times as good

You can’t put Ye’s commercial and creative peaks down to one album as the great man has had such a chaotic upward and downward spiral in terms
of general popularity and commercial success, if we are saying creativity 808s-MBDTF was his creative peak, peaking at the release of MBDTF, his commercial peak is obviously Graduation, with his biggest commercial revival coming with TLOP, that album inspired a new wave of fans to f*** with Ye, I remember doing my first year of my undergrad and there were I feel like Pablo tees and hoodies all over the place
Kanye's imperial phase was either LR or graduation
808s and onwards have been loyal fans
808s and onwards have been loyal fans
Failing to recognize the impact pablo had culturally at that time that s*** was EVERYWHERE with a lot of the fans at the shows being recent bandwagons because all he did that year was run the whole show

this
y'all think he could have another commercial revival? I feel like Donda could reach this generation heavily
Tbh he did this way back with the Education trilogy. After that he lost some fans with 808s but plenty stayed on for MBDTF and Yeezus

Tlop brought new fans
Essentially it was the 2nd graduation
But then Kanye hit the ye button lol
