Nah niche title either way. But even those that dont buy Death Stranding 1 or 2 view this as major because they never thought Sony would turn their back on one of their central creators. I think many of those celebrating on the internet or saying "PS5 will be my last console" likely didnt even play Death Stranding 1 and 2 to that degree but were going to play Physint.

Seeing a game not be cancelled is dope. Seeing a company step up is dope. It being Xbox is an major move from them to get their foothold in the japanese market. But the largest consumers of Kojima recent titles are US not Japan. I am just curious to see what the partnership brings. Better to see Xbox burn money on Kojima than a lot of the creators that wasted their money past two generations

Im far from a Kojima fanboy but this logic of "It happened twice with Kojima, so it means he must be at fault" is really stupid.

Konami at that time made a really hard turn toward mobile. They wanted to burn down the whole console section in their company almost immediately. MGSV and Kojima fell victim to the process.

Sony doesn't want to make games anymore which aren't super safe money makers and focus on Marvel and God of War. Kojimas game got cancelled. Simple as that.

This is really weird. Seems like this game would print money for them being the mgs successor. But with the poor sales of DS2 and kojima being historically hard to work with I guess it makes sense. He was probably asking for too much from Sony and they axed it.

lol gassing it a bit because while this is a momentary set back this isnt a fall off sales wise its people on the internet pushing back at no disc, no kojima, same game formula but sales wise they arent taking this hit yet. PS6 will be interesting though but right now with GTA VI they are going to struggle to make enough consoles to sell based on demand.

So yes its been fun and jokes but reality is Sony still by and large ahead. Then with install base even if people have all their games on disc. They have all their friends on playstation.

Sony says "attachable disc drive for ps6 to play ps5 and ps4 games. " Many of those upset are still staying playstation. The list of things Xbox has to do to get people to move is open marketplace, disc drive thats backwards compatible, continue physicals ( may not be possible due to issues with disc manufacturers ), make online free to play if you are a pc hybrid because otherwise why wouldnt they just build a pc for similiar pricing.
