It's their fault
They make more then enough money and have the biggest brand name out
But they purposely pump all their money into products and the shows since after gen 5
The games are literally just an after thought, while the side games that are mostly made by smaller developers with less money make games with way more gameplay and graphical variety and improvements - n some of them like Pokemon Snap 2 n Pokemon Tournament are truly current gen (last gen)
It's a literal them issue and priorities, Gamefreak could literally change if they wanted - their anime schedule was already created by them that puts them on such a thin rope
The mainline game are nothing but just another marketing branch for the merch, plushies and shoes

I'm working in the career field I've been dreaming of most my life and for what I went to school for. I paid off my student loans in November. I'm moving out my family house and getting my own by the summer time.

Still, you're definitely much better off just getting the FR/LG roms and playing them on an emulator lol free, save states, rewind, fast forward. And if you're into the Pokemon mod scene, a ton of QoL improvements and even online features.
they can’t put it in that Expansion Pack bc the Expansion Pack saves all the game data in the cloud, and Pokémon is very against that because of using cloud backups to duplicate save data
