& they got a HBO deal to make an anime (back in the George Floyd era where loads of black stuff was getting Greenlit) but then HBO/Warner started doing them major budget cuts & cancellations & i think it got cancelled
i saw a video a bit after that seemed to suggest their anime got cancelled also

I fully agree with what you said about unc, and this probably isn’t the most airtight line of thinking on my part, but ultimately I don’t think the explosion of “unc” usage (“unksplosion”) we’re seeing recently is the cumulative effect of non-Black people being exposed to AAVE over a long period of time; which I would say about something like “period”. I think the “unc” uptick is due to people becoming aware of it through rap (and rap-related memes) over the last 5 years at most

I’m definitely not a person who can successfully delineate the line between slang co-opted from AAVE vs slang co-opted from rap culture though
