Zack From The SixDifference is that I love R&B and I am used to the greats of the past, so I'm not impressed when someone can hit a few notes, which is all it takes to impress a casual like you.
It is also possible for you to become a math genius. But no matter how hard you try, you will never reach that level.
Everything can be taught. But not everyone can reach the levels that are required.
I think it's fair that we expect grown people to be able to reach that conclusion without needing someone to spell it out but I know who I am responding to, so I will do it for you this one time.

But I do wonder the question - why is it so important for us to want Drake to evolve to our expectations or like other rappers? You can have the Kendricks, whose artistry path mirrors more of Radiohead and, you can also have the Drakes, whose artistry path mirrors more of a Coldplay. Both can exist within hip hop and reflects the growth of the genre overall.

Mar 7, 2025As far as R&B goes, Drake's singing has gotten worse. He showed a lot of potential early on but he's melodyning the crap out of his voice and settling on the most basic vocal melodies. Like, the vocals sound so nasal and hollow on Rich Baby Daddy, especially compared to SZA, and I love that song. I just kind of tolerate his part. He CAN sing, the vocals don't sound right though.

He doesn’t just make music for bars and clubs lol. Many of his most memorable tracks are the opposite of bar/clubs music.
