So a 23 year old kissing a 16 year old is ok then?

The fact that you have to change the ages to make it look worse is proof that what drake did isnt on the same level as 6ix9ine

the essence of it yeah. Rap was always the most superficial genre but at least it had authenticity to it. You believed Pac, BIG, Jay when they rapped about s***. Now a days rap is totally WWE and the worst part is theres no competition lol None of it is real apart from a handful of guys who aren't even that popular. The mainstream of rap has never been worse. Just compare the talent pool today to any other decade. At some point rap stopped being a genre from and for the streets (Blame Kanye tbh)

A 23 year old kissing a 17 year old is bad enough- dont need to change the ages

I changed the ages because the previous person said 16 was the legal age.

If rap had to only be from the streets, it would be a dead genre right now
Thank god it’s not just that, just white peoples observing black men rap and treating it like trauma p***
If hip hop had gatekeepers, every rapper would be stuck in a mold, the same s*** y’all complain about monthly in threads in this sxn, rappers doing the same s***, it would be x100 worse with the “Big Homies” telling you that you can’t rap if you didn’t grow up struggling

Whole thread is corny and inspired by people like 69, who are label products who never meant anything to the culture but y’all treating him like he was/is. He’s making money for white execs enjoying their swimming pools and mansions during quarantine and providing entertainment for pre-teens. This is all an overreactment.

Because they are both wrong. But as long as theyre not out there sleeping with kids (like r kelly) or doing some other s*** to that level then they can still be forgiven in time.

Like drake has been despite kissing a 17 year old, twice.

    Simple really

Country music would never let a black kid come into their culture With a bunch of baggage of s*** they don’t condone and make a mockery of it.

That’s why Kenny Chesney can outsell Drake because they respect their culture

    HIP HOP IS TOO ACCEPTING

This argument would make sense if you forget that fact that country gatekeepers basically gatekeep every black country artist that tries to come up.

The most popular black country artist rn is a biracial dude bruh lol.

That's not what im implying, ur basically saying country artists gatekeep artists that make a mockery of their genre.

Im saying that their are black country artists out there that actually care about that genre & about making actual country music but are blackballed because of racial politics.

yeah but when the top rappers of the mainstream are Drake, Cole, Kendrick, Future, Travis in comparison to in the 90s Pac, BIG, Cube, Snoop, Dre or in the 00s Em, 50, Jay, Wayne, Ye, TI etc s*** went wrong lol Drake is probably the only one from this current era that could've broken through in the 00s and been a star.

More societies fault but....I'm a huge fan of both but Kanye and Wayne's influence on the genre just made it easy for weirdos and non street rappers to come in and rap/sing about nothing. Same thing happened with latin rap and reggaeton tbf..moved away from the streets and now its absolute trash other than Bad Bunny(and hardcore/OG fans will say he's trash too)

In general its just the way society moved away from "masculinity" or "toxic masculinity" as its known now though. The current MJ doc is a perfect example, 80% of the s*** in that doc would be a huge scandal rn lol 60% of classic rap from the 90s and 00s wouldve been "cancelled" worthy in todays game lol so I'm not really blaming rappers(other than ye and wayne), its just disappointing thats all.

    agree to disagree then

a 23 year old kissing a 17 year old is a lot worse than a 18 year old touching a 13 year old girls ass to me

    but anyway
