I clearly stated that it’s the fans who got tired of hiphop but the same listeners who always been here are still here? None of the other genres have significantly rose in any way nor reached the peak hiphop has reached or gone above it in its decline but ya’ll keep focusing on only hiphop cause pop/country/rock fans finally leaving
Where the other artists from these other genres that compare to the stars always required from hiphop? why can hiphop consistently produce and did produce a new crop of artists that charted highly in the 2020s and that be harshly judged compared to other genres who didn’t do the same?
The other genres don't have to reach hip-hop's peak for the existence of their growths to be acknowledged
The stats are literally public information, go read the report
Just saying that using niggas who mostly peaked years ago doing shows overseas as an indicator of rap’s health is not an accurate indicator lol
They likely have years left of being able to capitalize on their past highs overseas like Wu Em 50 etc did in the 2010’s but that has nothing to do with rap at large
But I listed other artists in my other comment who all debuted >2018 so now what? We just gonna keep focusing on Travis cole and dot, or the other 6 rappers I listed? Lol
Seen em live twice this year
Sensational R&B mursic
it's fire
unironically great grilling music oto
but why does having seen it all before make that a bad list of output for so far this year?
You’ll see when the next Em DMX 50 Kanye Mixtape Weezy etc tier moment/run happens lol
All of the rhetoric around rap falling off can be boiled down to no one is “going for it”, niggas preserving their brand or trying to fit into “the underground” (which ironically goes against the concept of an underground lol)
S***s just not exciting bro
so you need young artists to give us greatness to consider it a great year?
I need hip hop to give me consistent greatness (my top 3 albums of the year so far are not hip hop. It took months for GENA to even have competition and that album dropped at the top of the year imo) for it to be a great year.
I felt last year had more variety and people putting their best foot forward (e.g. Earl dropping his magnum opus last year versus doing a Lucki impression. Which is still good Andre don't kill me but I still play Live Laugh Love over Pompeii all the time)
because it's 2026 and maybe folks want something fresh?
we don't even need something fresh. people just gotta rap their ass off in a palatable way that's how all the legends became legends

livelaughlove is so f***in good man it's like a hug
2025 was good too.
sometimes I feel like you niggas just want hiphop to be dead to confirm your biases that this s*** just ass to you today, which is also okay to say!

i think people got too smart for their own good. like the idea of a roll out and everything is so engrained the music gets lost
I wonder if this changes the deals underground rappers get now. They make the least accessible form of rap music and it’s more clear now that it’s not a place that will birth future superstars like uzi or carti anymore

long and well executed roll outs
Losers itt talmbout some "The state of hip-hop is declining!" or "B-But R&B is doing well on the charts!"
Whole time I'm like cool...ya listen to that GENA album or Deante Hitchcock?
Deante never grabbed my attention
It's Kenny Mason as far as the (supposed to be) biggest thing to be from Atlanta.

uzi and carti are future superstars?
@insertcoolnamehere what if I added Diamond to that list?
new cat who just made a fun maybe great album last week

saw them at Young World. That s*** was FIRE. Karriem has the meanest pocket.
you morphing into Andre dawg lmao.
lol sorry man
long and well executed roll outs
iceman was an excellent rollout, fall off great rollout, music great roll out. it just feels like people wanna build the world around the music more than focusing on just being a great rapper. like we all buy into their rollouts because they were great first
went to 6 rap tours last year and 4 in just the last 7 months from artists of different age ranges, crowd sizes and relevance but niggas tell you hiphop dead cause of some streaming numbers smdh niggas stink off twitter ass a***ysis
uzi and carti are future superstars?
i consider uzi one of the greatest rappers of all time and a borderline legacy act atp

Sorry bro we're not hyping up a group that has gained their most talking discussion over someone spilling semen on a female pedophile
i consider uzi one of the greatest rappers of all time and a borderline legacy act atp
both those dudes have been releasing music that a lot of people have listened to for over a decade
uzi and carti are future superstars?
They’re superstars rn that existed in the underground a decade ago amongst other artists who blew up like pump or x. That mainstream potential is really lacking in the underground now. I’m sorry, but Osamason or Nettspend are most likely never reaching that point, even though they’re in a position primed to blow up
