Drake just put out 4 atrocious records in the last 3 years and you're worried about Ye and Em?

Donda still has some of the best rap songs we've seen in the genre this decade

  • Nov 20, 2023

I know we got 2 albums from Em in 2020 but I would actually be very interested in knowing what a new Em album would be like

    Just wait.

When Carti drops his next album and it doesn't live up to the hype, KTT gonna ask if it's time for Carti to retire and he ain't even 30 yet.

Modern hip hop and modern NBA discussion are both so hilariously toxic.

Tyler keeps his fanbase tho. And that’s not a fully true statement cuz artists like Nas had a 2 year release schedule in the 90s

The 90's were a completely different era. These days fans have shorter attention spans partly cause of social media.

I honestly don’t think it’s that deep, niggas just ass at making music cause the image sells

This is just not true lol you clearly have a bias against Kanye cause you love Drake so damn much

Not true at all, I like Kanye more than drake. I feel like you’re just using this to deflect. Ye unfortunately hasn’t been as good as drake for a while now, it is what it is

Everyone, regardless of drake fans or not, knows Ye hasn’t been rapping well. There are glaring issues with his delivery and lyrics on a consistent basis, with decent verses being rare exceptions. This isn’t some way out there stan bias, this is just the truth.

Similar to Em, Ye forgot how to flow and sound good, and is now just off putting

Kanye hasn’t been really relevant/influential recently (music wise) and Em influenced artist aren’t currently relevant either so I don’t know what you’re talking about

  • Eminem worrying about the Lions while OP thinks he is influencing hiphop heads

When did you notice the decline of him not rapping well lyrically? I don’t think he’s ever been that great of a lyrical rapper LIKE THAT. It was always his energy and delivery that made him stand out to that I agree he has declined but there’s no way I’m putting him as bad as Eminem so we need to stop THAT

His major decline as a rapper started with TLOP. Delivery, flow, voice and lyrics were all going downhill and never recovered

He’s lowkey worse than Em to me because at least Em has technical skill as one redeeming quality. I can at least appreciate some of his stuff from a rhyming standpoint. There is no redeeming qualities of Ye’s raps. He scores low in every category. He says nothing, often shouts or slurs is words, sounds awkward, basic off beat flows, basic rhymes, corny bars, just nothing good at all

OP is literally just trolling for bait.

He actually reminds me of another poster, @Durkio_World , who used to also s*** on Kanye in half of his posts and present it as objective criticism.

And Durkio would stan Drake but pretend he wasn't a Drake stan. He was quite a character and OP has a lot of similarities to him.

Like you said, though, Ye and Em haven't done a single public interview this whole year nor have they dropped any projects. And their influence was more pronounced in the last decade.

The 2020's has way more Carti, Thugger, and Keef influence than anything else. You can hear their influence in most modern rap today.

When Yachty and other rappers complain about the state of hip hop today and people like Juicy J point out the decline in sales and chart success, I can bet you a million dollars that Ye and Em are the last people on their minds lol.

When he started letting the mumbles get to the final record

I can’t pinpoint the exact moment maybe Yeezus but I know by Saint Pablo it was obvious he was just getting Niggas to write a certain type of verse for him and even that now seemed a rare special occasion. Compared to like Graduation where yeah he had help but all those verses feel like him. That “style” ended honestly with Graduation.

By MBDTF he was still nice but it was a different style to where you could tell Pusha/Cyhi pen was being introduced in retrospect. By Yeezus it seem like he just doesn’t care lol

yeah i always found it strange how legends and GOATs in hip-hop would always get s*** on while even in s*** like rock, old bands like Queen or Metallica are held in high regards even though the latter has been shoveling out s*** for quite awhile

It is weird. Just look at Uzi's age dilemma. It's clear society regards hip hop as a young man's game but why? If you're over 30 in hip hop you're apparently a dusthead. It's counter productive. A lot of GOATs only hit their stride/acclaim post 30

    Rap is doing quite well.

The decline in rap could be attributed to guys like Carti

  • Nov 20, 2023

Eminem is barely active these days it's those "active" guys who have drowned this genre to the mud.

OP yet again created a good bait thread by bringing up rappers he claims he doesn't like that much. Gotta give him props for that.

But OP still hasn't addressed who Yachty was referring to when he recently said the rap game today was in bad shape.

Was he subbing Em and Ye or was he referring to his own peers?

Seems like the OP is more out of touch than he realizes.

What point did he say that? Was it in the interview with Cole?

There's definitely a push. Look at any of those trash rap pages on IG. Most of it is right leaning politics and anti trans rage baiting stuff.
