I agree OP and you may laugh at me KTT all you want, ridicule me all you want and avi-post me all you want. But deep down you all know it is nothing but an attempt to run away from this intellectual discourse. Perhaps it is unconfortable for you to admit that the thing you're most passionate about is merely a shell of itself and a driving force to the worst in our society. I dont blame you in fact for feeling like this. But remember what the geat Gilles Deleuze once said: " It's not easy to see things from the middle, rather than looking from above or up at them, from below, or from left to right or right to left: try it, you'll see that everything changes."

  • Didn't read but no s*** it's been around nearly 40 years now

Edit lol this post is even dumber than I expected

It's definitely changed and I'm not a fan of the direction it's going but the good thing about the internet is that it allows multiple lanes of rap to exist and be accessible compared to the old days when A&R and labels basically hand picked who blew up and had every artist on a short leash. I'd still say more good projects come out than in about of other decades.

I definitely agree with your point about very great Rap being released lately. And no this is more of a rant about the messages the popular mainstream Hip-Hop and other genres, for that matter, been promoting.
