youtube search query: The Weeknd / dark pop Type Beat tutorial 2025

makes no sense lol, just hating to hate at this point

  • Hit boy is as generic as you can get

Nas should be rapping over roc Marci, conductor, Madlib, etc beats

Rather hear this than anything on the s***-boy albums

You proving my point for me. Why does Clique still sound ahead of it's time but most s*** today sounds like YouTube tutorial generic slop knockoffs of s*** from the 2010's or post WLR slop lol

What else did Clique sound like

Very plausible but lol @ it taking Hit six projects to find this out

It needs to be a whole new side industry in music solely to sort out the business. Like how athletes have agents the music industry needs Rich Paul types lol

  • Jbreezyondeck

The recency bias got me feeling looney because I swear this site was gassing these up calling them classics and s***

I enjoyed all the albums except Magic 2 a lot but yeah....some niggas were throwing the C word too much.

bruh you keep using these buzzwords to describe your point and it’s just not sticking lmfao. Clique is mad dated and sounds like it came out in the years that it came out. nobody tryna hear orchestral/opera transitions on their beats in 2026 since you want to be so nitpicky lol

Magic being a surprise drop on Christmas Eve was really cool. Only time I cared for them

  • Damn, I hate that they had a falling out. Hopefully we learn more about why later.

Nas probably slighted him severely behind the scenes. Cut throat industry dog.

  • KD3 the one good one

Ya'll really are switching up though and it's funny to see.

I ain't calling out names or nothing but ya'll were not saying Nas's Hit Boy run was "mid" when they were active. Only Magic 2 was s***ted on here.

Philly drill niggas use opera orchestral s*** in their beats to this day but that's an attempted deflection to a random small part of the beat. Point being there is no other beat that sounds like Clique before it and that's why it still sounds fresh today while most beats today could have been made anytime since 2018. F1lthy or whoever can't come up with something that hasn't already been generally preceded by Lex or Sizzle or TM or any one of those type niggas you wanna pick. They just use Serum instead of Nexus and Gladiator and sped up the BPM. You can't point to something someone else made that Hit Boy tweaked to come up with CDC/Clique

even if we go off of the main/only similarity being the drums I'm willing to bet if we dig deep enough into this era Hit was the first to do it lol

I posted a song by Pac Div that came out in 2011 that not far off Clique. it’s okay man, you like Kanye, what he does and don’t like the 2020s era of hiphop but to conflate that to points that is just buzzwords not hitting lmao

now you getting into an entire assumption of niggas workflows instead of just giving credit where it’s due for the run niggas went on in production 2018-2023 that in no way was derivative and even if I ain’t f*** with a lot of it, was fresh almost every time and niggas have classic beats/songs/tapes to go with it

  • ______

This s*** is so funny, he really thought this mid was fire

CDC came out before the Pac Div song, I'm not finna go into a deep dive of early 2010's west coast blog era for this but again, even if we just group all that into one sound, what before it is it copying that is as derivative as F1lthy Pierre Richie Souf is to TM/Sizzle/early 2010's Atlanta lol. They just sped up the BPM and used new VSTs for the same essential formula and the rap game is running off the same logic in the 2020's except copying WLR and Detroit/Florida lol whereas every few years before 2016-2018 the sound used to change

To take it back to original point the above is why niggas will be like a beat like "speechless" sucks but love generic OmnisphereSerumSlop lol

  • Nas comes off nonchalant and Hit-boy comes off like he has a chip on his shoulder so this doesn't surprise me, whatever happened.

  • I never quite understood the intense dislike KTT2 has for Hit-Boy. Are some of his beats generic? yeah fs. But when that mf makes an outstanding beat (and he has), they'll grit their teeth and refuse to admit it.

Kings Disease 2, 3 and Magic 1 were all really good albums imo. Magic 1 genuinely might be a top 5 Nas album for me.

The ironic thing is, when Nas finally dropped that collab album with Premier, one of the GOATS of production, it was worse then almost every Nas x Hit-Boy collab

  • a lot of great songs between the two of em. yall gotta chill with the slander
