Losing all your shards during gauntlets is particularly annoying because I don't believe they are designed to be played otherwise. But I think a lot of HK and Silksong is about resource management and doing this instead of that, winning this and losing that. Maybe there's too much management in Silksong, though.
I was thinking about the shard system while playing yesterday and I somewhat think it’s a lose lose depening on what team cherry was trying to accomplish
Get rid of shards and your tools reset at bench? Power fantasy because I think tools are way OP and everyone dumping them non stop between benches would trivialize the difficulty of combat and stop people from engaging with the fights and small mechanics within
The way it is now at least punishes your for not learning the fights and relying on tool spam… but if you are willing to grind rosaries the above option still exists
I think a medium where tools are reset at bench but their power is toned down would have been a better system
I agree with most of what you said but also why wouldnt people use the offensive tools ? They litteraly give you the option it just feels so stupid to punish you for it, i get that you need to use everything in your arsenal and that also includes learning to fight the bosses normaly but then why even bother with the offensive tools in that case ? Like you said the best option wouldve been to just make them less powerful 🤷♀️

Enemies in gauntlets should at least give you some shards when defeated to make it less of an issue
I’m on Act III. I found something related to the Green Prince. I love this game even if it makes me vent every time it turns into bullet hell. It is vastly superior to Hollow Knight and it is a shame that its release got clouded by a very strange discourse about difficulty, especially that now everybody, as predicted, realizes how relatively simple the beginning of Silksong is.
Was gonna buy Silksong but I’ve never played Hollow Knight and it’s a part of my PS Plus so I guess I’m gonna play that to see how I like this type of game

Yep, seeing people hate on the hunter crest pogo when the game released had me like
Is such a fun and great pogo for fighting
Honestly the only thing annoying with the game for me is how u have to repeat gauntles that have a boss behind them
Like im tryna beat Karmelita i dont care about 3 ant enemies i can no hit 😭

Brah that s*** pissed me off 😭
Why is everybody complaining this game is hard? Almost at the end of act 2 and played it mostly without neel upgrades.
Anyway the game is great. I hope act 3 is as good as act 2.
Bit shorter but very good and some of the coolest challenges in the game imo
put this down for a bit and just got the needle strike, not quite sure how to get to the objective marker or where to go yet but the last few bosses have been fire

Can't wait
Favourite bosses so far:
Cogwork dancers
Trobbio
First sinner
Widow
Last Judge
I do feel the bosses in act 1 were too gimmicky

If you liked Cogwork Dancers and Trobbio Act 3 has something in store for you 👀
They need to have way more pin markers avaible early in the game. I reached the citadel and was out of markers. Forgot half of the stuff that I wanted to revisit.
Also still need to acces the door in far fields (angry monster sound). Cant find the key.

You gotta go around to open that door
Hint : check out the Bellway station in far Fields
