With Hollow Knight I could defeat the enemies almost perfect, because that's how good I needed to be.
With Silksong I just blasted through some fases with my tools lol
I'm trying to finish the game under five hours but three hours in I am at The Last Judge, I lost time getting masks and stuff. The High Halls gauntlet scare me in a "speedrun".

4h40: I died at the last wave of High Halls gauntlet.
It's safe to say I won't make it.

I did it in 3h21. Got lucky and first tried High Halls.
Got Completion and Passing of the Age tonight which meant killing Lost Lace twice. First tried her both times. Felt good.
The Cursed Ending is…too hard? Grand Mother Silk is cheap as f***. It’s just random three masks damage…the blades are sometimes off screen…my less favorite fight by far.
Second playthrough cementing this as one of the best games of the decade. It’s definitely unmatched in terms of the soundtrack and visuals, no side-scroller looks and sounds this good. The exploration is perfect too.
For me, I like the brutal difficulty, it’s not insurmountable and I feel like I get better every time I sit down to play. I see a lot of people online calling it unbalanced but I like the way sometimes it feels like I need to give up and come back later.
The writing is excellent, only thing I wish for is maybe voice acting, I liked the bit of VA that was in Dread and it could definitely enhance this game, it would bring all these interesting characters to life in a new way

I finished it in 3h21 for the speedrun achievement, so…yeah, the difficulty is very well balanced, only High Halls gauntlet can be a run killer. During my first playthrough, I avoided everything that seemed insane—except, ironically enough, High Halls gauntlet—and nothing seemed egregiously difficult for somebody who had played the first Hollow Knight. A lot of people are really impatient.
For new players, yes, the beginning must be rough. The ants literally have the patterns of Hornet in HK and I remember that it was the first serious barrier in the game.
Knowing the game better, I also realized that they decided not to reward the player after bosses because everything is there to find in the world.
Finally getting around to finishing this and Skarrsinger Karmelita is one of the best boss fights ever, that s*** was so f***ing good
Got 100% completion and finished the game. Holy f*** man what a journey. Up there as one of my favourite games of all time, whatever Team Cherry and Christopher Larkin cooks up next I'm there.

I’m playing through the first one rn is this something I should play right away or wait for updates/dlc? I’m not one to really go back to games once I finish them.

The first one is just gonna get better frame rate for Switch 2 and small fixes for all formats, so I'd say...maybe wait for January, but if it takes longer, you can safely play Hollow Knight.

I’m playing the first one rn on my steam deck, probably gonna wait on silksong for updates, plus I’ve already put like 40 hours into this game, gonna need a break.
Got Steel Soul in three hours. I don’t want to do it for the 100%. Hardest achievement yet was the Cursed Ending.

I hope there will be more soon.
