Lil Nas X is not a gay rapper.
A gay artist, yes. But iLoveMakonnen got blackballed for coming out.
Lil nas x is a rapper tf are u talkin bout
Niggas should focus on making intelligence cool in hip hop everything else will fall into place naturally instead of having people that come off as outsiders pushing their opinion as law. These baby voice eee ahh ooh niggas being acceptable is an example of natural change.
This I do agree with.
We don’t encourage intelligence in hip hop. If we did that more people would just know certain things just aint right. A lot of this stuff does come from niggas that just dont know better.
I dont even think we be encouraging reading like we used to (“read a motherfucking book” one of the greatest hooks of all time)
In the mainstream it’s more addiction than gun violence. Which leads to a whole nother conversation that judging by the amount of d***riding (no pause cause i think some of yall on this sxn really got a crush on dude) in that future thread with them naked strippers, KTT2 aint ready to have either
What's wrong about having a party with strippers?
A lot of rappers get killed these days, from small ones to big ones. I saw a pic of Bobby wearing a vest under his shirt and thought at least dude is smart.
No one dying on this hill. Hip hop just doesn’t need to be policed. ESP by kids that started listening to rap 5 years ago.
Hip Hop’s always been policed since Lyor Cohen signed contracts. So idk what you tryna say with that.

It’s a pandemic outside fam
Im mainly focusing on mainstream, who was the last BIG rapper besides Pop that died by gun violence and not d*** related issues
Yup. Hip hop never followed rules. Spoke their mind and did what tf they want. Even if it involves killing people selling d**** or being homophobic. That’s what makes it great. Not being politically or moral correct.

We lost Nip, Pop and Von. And I'm leaving Chiraq dudes out cause they in a war zone.
Way back in the days I only remember Dolla getting killed. Now it's pretty common.
Thats a NY thing we dont necessarily use pause to prove we’re not gay. Its just a thing that stays with you.
Except now niggas give a s*** more.
Desus & Mero talked about it once on they podcast but The crack era and the recovery of said era during the 90s resulted in a lot of negativity and tough guy s*** in hip hop. Look at the Source Awards.
The s*** that we call “soft” is actually normal. Normal ppl aint supposed to be mean mugging every nigga that pass you by. Normal ppl dont assume everyone they see has the worst for you in mind.
Everybody ITT thats is literally caping trauma.
Yep I agree with you. Dudes love harping over the “golden era” not even realizing how violent the 90s were.
Niggas would start poppin guns no f***s given at any perceived slight and people looking back at that era favorably
It’s a lot better than what it was but not where it need to be

Nigga he won a grammy for a pop duo performance, no he’s not.
Y’all gassed that song as a country song. Dude’s a pop artist, not a RAPPER.

man I need to know who the hell is liking your comments because you are not making any points whatsoever
The point is nothing was off limits. If you wanted to present just how grimy and destructive the streets were, you could do it. For every song about killing people there was a Tupac "Brendas Got A Baby" "Keep Ya Head Up" or a Geto Boys "My Mind Playing Tricks On Me" and many many more examples showing the real side of people going through that. Now a days there is no two sides. Its one sided. Party, women, d****. I'm talking at the top, mainstream rap. Mainstream rap back then was anything you wanted it to be. The possibilities were endless. Now? there is a certain formula/criteria you must adhere to. Social media has a lot to do with it.
edit: this was a quote response to nigerian pastor don't know what happened lol

No it’s not. Theres a whole subgenre in hip hop of men rapping about their mental health.
I hate yall niggas that dont really listen to a lot of the new artists in hip hop.
being homophobic is weird anyways, imagine being concerned about what another man does in the bedroom
Surprised this thread lasted this long
I had a thread on the relationship with hip hop pedos & transgenders the other night...
Got locked in 30 mins

When I say “Rapper” @Makaveli
