    Y’all chill
“Getting the 808’s treatment” doesn’t mean “this album is as good as 808’s”

    Incorrect

drake fans legit don’t know indisputable classics look like so they campaign every album as a “sleeper” classic

  • Jul 18, 2023

    I like this album though

The internet will never convince me this album is good, it’s watered-down, dilute cosplay dance music

Few gems in there, but no, this album had minimal-to-no impact in real life, there is extraordinarily better & authentic house/dance music out there than this surface-level attempt at it

Produced by black coffee but somehow its “inauthentic house music” lmao shut up

Hate to burst ya'll bubble but WLR is not generally accepted as good at all. Idk who told ya'll it was.

  • Jul 18, 2023

Die Lit is so much better than WLR

  • Jul 18, 2023

kinda never understood the concept of just hating an album first few listens then doing a complete 180 on it afterwards

Pitchfork literally gave it an 8.4 and best new music

I hate pitchfork but ijs that’s about as generally accepted as it gets

If YOU don’t like it just say that let’s not start lying

It takes 5 years to get that kind of treatment and I think you’d be better off saying 808s/Yeezus/ye treatment

Critic ratings don’t really matter more than ours because they’re very biased, it’s just one random persons opinion. In other words pitchforks review is equally valid to my or your opinion.

    WLR is a 7/10

If you look at Diablo 4 meta critic score it’s like almost a 9/10 but if you look at the user scores it’s closer to a 5/10 which is much more accurate.

    I'm gonna be completely honest

I kinda called this like 2 months or so after it dropped. I liked it enough and revisited a good amount of tracks, my fav Drake album since wattba

And within just a couple months everyone was copying the style of beats, even bey dropped a similar album, tons of the underground is making songs that are clearly from this album

I could see it being looked at really highly a couple years from now

Bey dropped a “similar” album because everyone is copying Glass Animals Dreamland album from 2020

Also don’t forget Drake and Beyoncé were working together in the studio during the recording time of Renaissance so it’s likely they inspired each other also pretty likely that they were “asked/made” to make this sound the current trend.

It’s all pop. Honestly Nevermind is dance pop.

    Renaissance is RNB pop

If you don’t think that Pop king right now that’s fine. If you don’t think Glass Animals had anything to do with it becoming more popular right now that’s fine.

There’s no such thing as “Dream pop”. Just call it pop.
