hey ya is the definition of a timeless classic
Tootsie Slide is in the same lane as Hey Ya an Xo Tour Life
Hey Ya? idk about that at all
Tootsie Slide is in the same lane as Hey Ya an Xo Tour Life
I'd say Hey Ya is soul, funk and pop before rap anyway
I like Todd but he is also a 36 year old man who admits he is nowhere near as knowledgeable about rap as he is with pop
Tootsie Slide is in the same lane as Hey Ya an Xo Tour Life

Hey Ya is fun and poppy but XO Tour Life

Thought this guy was gonna have angry loser energy based on the hood
Video wasn't bad, definitely a step up from Shawn Cee and Fantano

Toosie slide ain't rap tho
all valid opinions imo no pseudo bullshit
I think he's wrong about Toosie Slide not being enjoyable in a club dancefloor because at 82 BPM it's pretty upbeat and could fit into a set as easily (but not as popularly) as Cha Cha Slide at 72 and Crank Dat at 76
There's also a lot of variations because of how much space is in it so naturally it has Jersey Club remixes
I don't think people are too focused on the steps either because it's so simple so it's mostly 4 minutes of freestyle and MJ popping
It's a really fun song

Yeah but the cha cha and crank dat are still reasonably slow "club" songs
I think most of the criticism comes with the shameless attempt at forcefully recreating In My Feelings tiktok success

Toosie Slide is as good as In My Feelings to me intentional or not
One of the more tolerable Channel Awesome content creators. Better than Rap Critic for sure.
