should've been linear story
semi open world
Gorgeous visuals and pretty solid gameplay, everything else is garbage though. Typical s***ty bloated open world game
combat is fun as hell late-game, especially when you can setup robot dogfighting. better than it had any right to be. frozen wilds was way better than base game. sucks it takes a while for it to really kick though.
wouldn't have paid more than $29.99 for it though. game world is shallow, plot is mediocre at best, and it has maybe the worst inventory system i've seen in a game this gen
dope game, story and concept alone make it worth finishing. When you find out where the robot animals came from
sequel gonna be fire
Yup the backstory made this game go from a 6/10 to a solid 8 for me
Thought the game started out good, and I just lost interest. Story & characters ended up being bland to me, Roth, Helis & Sylens were the only characters I remember liking.
Then again I kinda rushed through it so I could play Nier Automata at the time
I got to the open world and quit after that
gotta agree
I bought it expecting to like it
but its some real generic open world s***, aint even get 1/4 through i think
characters and story was mid, animations too, especially coming from god of war
arrow shooting combat was cool though
the characters and conversations were so stiff and lifeless. Mass Effect did it better and those games are over a decade old, especially the first one.
I think a big problem is that people don't take full advantage of the combat systems in games. I'd just arrow spam and hop around instead of using the traps and trip wires to their full potential, that makes the game feel more simplistic and repetitive than it can be. Its the equivalent of people who complain about TW3 just requiring Quen spamming and ballerina sword twirls to win, there's potions and bombs etc but people don't use them and then complain about the gameplay.
Story is quite forgettable though, I was about halfway before I put the game down and I had absolutely no idea what was going on in the plot. The game is slightly overrated (far from awful) but you can blame Microsoft for that - if there's no viable competition, everything Sony does will be overhyped
