Out of this whole beef situation and even prior to from interviews and listening to their music. I’ve come to the conclusion that both rappers “hate” each other because they both want what the other has.

Drake’s biggest insecurity since the start of his career has been not being fully accepted by hip hop fans especially the purist who refuse to give him his credit for either being “pop”, for “singing”, and the ghost writing allegations. I think what Drake always has wanted is to have the acknowledgement that his pen is one of the greatest and he’s a top MC. Kendrick from the jump of his career has gotten fully embraced by the hip hop community especially from the West Coast. He has been looked at has hip hop’s savior. Drake envies that.

Kendrick Lamar claims in his music that he doesn’t care for the fame, the women, the clothes, and overall the hip hop lifestyle. He’s pigeonholed himself into this leadership uplifting the black community type role. With that comes having to keep a certain look, there’s no real room for the traditional hip hop lifestyle of money, cars, clothes, and girls. I truly believe Kendrick envies that in Drake. That he gets to live that rapper lifestyle. Drake has the fame, popularity, women, entourage Kendrick wishes he had

Hate and love are on the two opposite sides of the same coin. These two really wish they had what the other has. That’s what this beef is really about.

Ready for the stans to say I have no idea what I’m talking about but it’s clear as day to me. They’re bars in this exchange towards each other shows their insecurities and jealousy of one another

I think them “wanting to be each other” is a reach but it’s human nature to want what you don’t have and to think the grass is greener so I can kinda see this but at the same time nothing is stopping either of them from doing whatever they want to do
