Drake still makes great music, he just struggles with making great projects because he struggles with cohesion.

Hip-hop is not disco, and it will not die out. It'll just continue to progress in new directions.
J. Cole has the amount of fans he does because of his relatability factor, and his music is great at breaking down his emotions on a level anyone can grasp. You do NOT need a certain amount of intelligence to listen to him.

Kanye is the walking definition of that thing where if you call a kid “gifted” all the time, they will stop putting in the work to succeed and give up on projects the second they become difficult
It’s why his music is so phoned in now because everyone has called him a genius for so long he thinks he doesn’t need to try
It’s why he does s*** like run for president and then barely registers to get on ballot or says he’ll take down the music industry and then quietly stops doing anything about it
It’s also why he’s currently most successful in fashion. Because no one told him he was gifted in fashion. They told him he couldn’t do it
I think his music has lessened in quality primarily because family, fashion, and Christianity play a bigger role in his life now.
In addition, I don’t think Kanye cares to take his time and craft a perfect project like he did with MBDTF and his past projects. He himself prefers Yeezus over MBDTF, so that says a lot about where he’s at musically.
