he has some legitimately great songs but it never felt like he could string together a project full of them
also his production was always high value but hit or miss
and now it just seems like he doesnt care
He just needed something to actually rap about
if we're being real he had more subject matter than like 90% of the industry lol
very low bar but still
I think due to his upbringing, he was always gon have a shortlived career. He was never gonna have the drive to keep pushing himself
seen him tour with j.cole. bruh was in the crowd and everything. way better performer than i anticipated, i was a believer. still am tbh

He had subject matter, he just made it sound goofy af
I think Jaden was actually slightly ahead of his time. I feel like he fits in with the 20s better than the late 10s. I actually like him as an artist
SYRE kind of reminds me of Because the Internet where the vision of the album sells me more than the music. He was onto something with that whole direction
Nobody tryna listen to fake deep sad rich kid raps over Michael Bay movie soundtrack ass beats.
You didn't have to do him like that
He basically has a similar talent level of XXXTENTACION.
He always reminded me of a "good" version of xxx ngl
Parroting what a lot of other people said Syre was actually a good album
The production on that B-L-U-E 4 track intro was crazy
He had subject matter, he just made it sound goofy af
yeah honestly even my favorite songs of his had some pretty corny lines
my pov on him was/is that he had the potential and the budget to make good music but it never really came to fruition. but to say he had zero talent or 'nothing to talk about' isnt fair to him either
SYRE kind of reminds me of Because the Internet where the vision of the album sells me more than the music. He was onto something with that whole direction
that stretch of summertime in paris, blackout and pain on erys was tapping into something too
Also his recent album is probably my favorite project from him.
But I know that SYRE is the only album that people acknowledge for whatever reasons

SYRE definitely showed his potential.
I was kinda surprised
He had an opportunity but didn’t take it to the next level after that
Jaden Smith and Vic Mensa were the only capable rappers that couldve carried out that Soulection/West Coast beat scene sound at the time.
I honestly think Jaden Smith just aint care to be big like that lol
