  • Since i started working my current job a year ago i thought i landed a great position and even tho ive been thru some ups and down some my fault some the companys fault one thing that is always in my head is the inevitable fear that the next mistake i make could be the last thing i do before i get fired. I've been blindside fired/laid off before twice and it f***ing sucks going from being comfortable at a role to being back in survival mode and carefully pinching your savings. i just wanna be able to live my life without the fear of being homeless at any moment

    1) Try to find a job in a relatively stable field / company
    2) Accumulate skills and keep your resume updated so you're quickly marketable if something goes awry
    3) Build a financial cushion so that you could get by for ~6+ months without a job if it ever came to that

You're overthinking it man. Just keep doing what you're supposed to do and whatever happens happens. You can't live your life fearing the unknown

  • ive never got to experience getting fired

usually left before it happened but i try to do my work and stay out the way. Easiest way to keep your job. I've seen people just throw their job away just off not understanding corporate politics. Mind the business that pays you.

Many people get laid off but the thought of getting laid off again shouldn't be in your head if you're doing great in your current role. Just keep grinding.

If you do a decent job, mind your own business and your company is also doing decently, theres no need to worry about that.

  • Wait till you find out you can die any second

  • It’s people who feel the same way but they don’t have a job to begin with/haven’t gotten an interview in hundreds of applications

We are slowly moving into the phase where for 10-15 years employment as we knew it is ending but “they” aren’t gonna do anything about it until 2035-2040
Post-COVID (seeing you could run a business at a fraction of the employees and hours), price increases across the board for everything, oil/gas price increases due to whatever Orange Nigga got going on are the causes for right now but above all else the biggest change we’re expecting when it comes to jobs (I don’t want to mention that term on here ever again but you know what I’m referring to) hasn’t even begun to effect things yet which is the scariest/worst part

All the niggas with bachelor’s degrees are gonna be fighting for jobs/gigs like this though

Or the typical jobs people would tell someone to eat s*** and do until something better comes along are now what a Bachelor’s degree gets you

S*** gone crumble before niggas accept that they gotta be a waiter, gas station clerk and do some gig app s*** to barely make $1000-1500 rent lol

honestly i'd say about half the time the people working overtime are doing it because of their own incompetence, at least in my experience seeing my coworkers (that and you get paid the overtime on top of your salary so some people just sit around with their d*** in their hands at the office for more money)
