2020/covid we saw the biggest upward move of wealth ever, we went from 500 billionaires living here to past 1500 since then
Luigi shooting that healthcare ceo and the public response felt nice like cathartic for about a week and now it just feels like any type of movement around it has no chance of materializing, im not saying we should all roadtrip to new york with 3d printed guns, but it feels like we learned nothing from it and are continuing business as usual
Watching family members waste away and deal with health issue after health issue as the bills pile up is driving me crazy and killing my optimism
Public schools, public transit, basically anything public, the ability to own a home as a average income person, etc its all getting f***ed, defunded, and shot in the balls, and stolen away in front of us all
Trump going into office also bums me out but biden and Kamala are just the other side of the same coin so we were cooked either way
We’re getting bazooka f***ed by the rich. They own and run the government and it really doesnt have to come to this point at all but they are so F***ING greedy they cant let us up for a little air for one second, i think only really really bad things will come from this unless there’s a huge change on the direction we’re going
At this point the only type of solution i can come up with is some sort of public lobbying system where anyone in the US can put down lobbying money and pool it towards laws they want to see passed to compete with the corporations, but that’s depressing and laughable and dystopian as hell and probably bound to face the same greedy problems that the political system has rn
