yo op i was in a similar situation what i suggest may not work for u but it might be worth a shot, i showed my parents pictures of rocky and travis to show that braids/dreads/twists are pretty normal today and they may say stuff like "this is feminine" or whatever but just try to show them that its normal. then do what u want. i got dreads rn and my parents dont care tbh but they do wanna get rid of them lmao
