How close do you think the USA is to getting a two tier healthcare system
Like where everyone pays into public but has the option to get private if they want.
Something similar to Australia
Also if everyone's paying into public insurance why even have private insurance at all

if we just had single payer wait times would be long.
if we just had single payer wait times would be long.
a two tier health system would be far worse in terms of exasperating wait times than a single payer system, since private payers’ facilities would have far fewer people per facility, thus making wait times even worse for people who are in the public option
additionally, the whole issue of a single payer system skyrocketing wait times is a myth and it can occur whether or not there is public or private healthcare: Source
we are very far away from any sort of possibility of healthcare because of the sheer influence that the healthcare and insurance industry have on the united states through lobbying power
the US is the only country that allows insurance and prescription medication to advertise on daytime television

two tier wouldnt be worse than what we have tho in the sense thateveryone would at least be covered
also in single payer then they could determine who gets treatment etc like in canada.

i think insurance should be allowed to advertise thats free speech. but every dem was running on some form of universal healthcare sooner or later republicans will be sayin that

Wait times is already ass with my doctor. It don't matter if it's single payer

Wait times are actually super long in America because all of the uninsured people wait forever.
I thought this is what biden wanted
what biden says and biden does are two different things.
case in point obama: pandered to progressives in his speech, and a neolib when it came to crunch time

Biden seems to be a mix of both if his selected appointees are any indication.
I believe he's certainly more of a moderate but he seems to be hinting towards having some progressive policies

I remember him literally saying during the debates that theres an affordable health care option and if you want your own private insurance you can do that as well
lol.
Loling at people dying from a lack of healthcare should be the OP

thats different then i was talking about then. everyone should have to pay into it or it wouldn't work well. imagine if people could opt out of paying for public schools
