Matter fact, hookah bars/lounges in Montreal used to be a great way to meet up and coming french artists that came to the city. Met Dadju when he was blowing up in 2016-17

i think it being in popular music rly comes down to it being in clubs. and then its a bit of a chicken or egg situation bc did the clubs put them in there bc people were rapping about it or did they start rapping about it cause it was in the clubs haha

Hookah lounges had already started popping up before I got to college. Certainly would call it trendy considering most of em didn’t survive.
