@NobodyWins @GoldmanSachs @Beautiful_Morning tap into this thread fellas lots of useful advice for you
Ok so here’s how I’ve done it:
First of all, have a damn good resume. Even if your experience isn’t great, a well formatted and clean resume will put your foot in the door.
Secondly, type up a stock cover letter that can be used for any position you’re applying for. I’ve typed one up and I just add or take away certain words for whatever job I’m applying for. Promise you, the employer will never read that s***? But it’s the extra initiative to include one that sets you apart.
Thirdly, be confident and have good posture throughout the entire interview. Practice the STAR method of interviewing and go over the questions.
Good luck OP
I also encourage phone interview before meeting in person if it’s available to you
You can really tell if it’s gonna be some bullshit based on what they remember of your conversation when you meet with them in person

How much we talking pay wise?
Really depends where you’re at. 40k-90k
Also overtime is available in most cases if you’re into that
Friend told me they were doin a hiring event at a casino and I gave it a shot, turns out im solid at it, now im a highly rated dealer and a supervisor in less than a year working here
I had a job at sales and then switched to pr doing copywriting and website content, roughly one year per each position all in the same place. saw a contractor position at another company that I really wanted to work at around the time I figured its time to bounce. there were no jobs in the area for what I do so there was lots at stake, but somehow someway I quit and immediately got a one-month writing gig that paid twice my old salary. in the meantime I landed the contractor position and im still with them, making a couple times over what I made just a year ago
way before that I did random copywriting/translation gigs plus a one-year bout at sales. lessons learned: sales is a great place to start a career if you want money and if you cant be f***ed working service jobs. dont spend too much time there though unless you want it to be your career; ive seen mad mid-30s ppl doing phone sales 10 years on end and tbh it doesn't look good and you cant talk about anything with these ppl
for my 'non major?' job back in the day when I used to bartend I applied to a bunch of places to become a barback. Had the intention of using that experience to eventually bartend. Worked there for a couple months then just started working my way up to better bartending jobs. twas fun while it lasted but had bigger ambitions
One thing that worked me tho is trying to apply to jobs thst im genuinely at least a bit excited about. If you can show that in the interview and have a real connection with the manager that’s a really good way to get in
Exactly
My d*** smells like the pages of a long lost, overdue library book at this point.
Came in ready to give my story then read the first sentence.
