I'm not sure how, it's very strange. Both of my parents grew up in Iran for most of their lives, yet they're able to speak like normal Americans. I got this weird Russian-like accent basically

I never really know when I’m talking loudly or too quiet. Like my voice is booming sometimes so if I think I’m talking in a normal volume and someone says that can’t hear me I would raise my voice and it would feel like I’m yelling.

maybe it's the people you hang around that influenced you subconsiously. u with alot of russians? my heavy accent became a weird mix of different accents after I moved cause i'm influenced by the people i'm around

I went to school in Iran for like couple of years, and moved back here when heading to 1st grade. Here I've been around variety of people but I remember one of my close friends back then was some Bangladesh dude.

But I'm not sure how much this should affect your voice

my voice got crazy deep over 2-3 years from smoking lotta leaf blunts, gravity bongs and black and milds lmao

it was something i was already doing, not something i seeked out to get a deeper voice but i noticed that happened over a few years. old white dude came up to me one day in the bank and said i should do radio LMAO

In all seriousness tho, while you can’t guarantee you won’t meet some d***heads on the way, the real world isn’t like school and professional employers largely wont give a f***.

Have worked at two different jobs which, due to the nature of the work, had a much larger proportion of foreign staff than the average company.

Accordingly there was huge exposure to foreign accents, people who pronounced certain words unusually / didn’t understand certain words.

There was no mockery or bullying of these people, and their ability to speak a second language was a huge selling point for the employers, so certainly wasn’t a hindrance

I'm able to speak two other languages, but the biggest thing about my voice is I'm worried how it'd affect me socially and sometimes people have hard times understanding what I'm tryna say.

Sometimes it’s harder to understand ppl with deeper voices. If they don’t speak loud enough it can come off as mumbling

On God when I was in 3rd grade niggas used to clown my voice for being high and would say I sounded like spongebob and s***, and for the next 3 years I forced a deep voice and by middle school my voice was naturally deeper than errybodys. Might’ve been a coincidence but i like to believe I forced that change
