  • I play guitar and sing, I'll be honest I'm sick of guitar. I don't even listen to that type of music anymore (Don McLean, James Taylor, John Mayer etc).

I want to start making music.. but I'm struggling to write anything that's not some cliche s*** on the guitar.

I want to make songs like Bazzi..
I listen to a lot of Drake, Bazzi, Juice Wrld and some Lil Tecca, Lil Skies etc..
Plus the likes of Miguel and The Weekend are cool.

Even a 'guitar' song like 'I got you' by Bazzi, how do I start making that type of music?

Most of the beats I fine seem to work with straight forward rap songs (like Do Not Disturb)..

Keep on experimenting and pushing yourself towards the direction you want . It’ll take time

  • I had a friend who would use ableton and a loop pedal so he would have live guitar with rap drums

  • Learn music theory, practice consistently and you'll start to make better music trust me. The goal should be to be able to play what you "hear" in your head. Once this happens you won't be making cliche stuff anymore. Plus the best way to make better music is to listen to ALOT more music and get more influences. Diversifying your tastes will only make you a better artist.

(If your still producing this a good channel to watch lot's of variety in the styles he covers, youtube.com/user/BeatsByVanity)
