I get that, but I never understood how it was done. There were teachers that would shout and not let anyone do s*** that would still get disrespected every lesson

The key is not to shout all the time, only when there's something REALLY bad. Shouting should be your last resort tbh

Just be cool with the kids and make them want to be on your good side through positive reinforcement

jokes aside just be real with them and appeal to their interests. not in a 'trying to be the cool teacher' way but just show them that someone cares. listen and have patience.

how old? if it's close to high school age there's a good chance that you guys have some similar interests and it won't be too hard to connect.

Don’t be a p**** ass teacher and let them f***ers run all over you but also don’t run the class like a f***in dictator. If you can show that you can be a bit cool at times but also know when to be serious they’ll usually like you. Unless they’re d***s which just my personal opinion some kids those age just are. They tend to grow out of it... usually

If you are a positive role model to them they will remember what you taught them for life.
