Some of them have other ventures or invest there money in other things to make money. Outside of record label advances, artists don’t make much money off dropping music alone in general. Touring, selling merch, etc is usually where the bread is.

Just advance money, if they're smart they'll invest. I can tell you from experience a lot of these rappers aren't making crazy money like that and owe a lot of people money. A lot of the lifestyle is fake
