Op is right, to an extent.
I’m still interested in both as artists, but the beef has run its course.
Stan wars are not needed anymore, I think

These stans wars aren't going anywhere any time soon. They still argue about 2Pac and Biggie and Jay Z and Nas to this day. Better you switch genres if this stuff bothers you.

Because both these artists are relics from a time where rappers were allowed to have personalities that engaged the audience with them as people and the talent that engaged the audience with them as rappers.

This creates long lasting impact that keeps said audience a permanent need to keep up with whatever they’re up to versus…the “type s*** nonchalant” landscape today where the audience dont even know who u are as a person.

I don’t mind talking about it, or being interested, but I just don’t think the stan wars are productive.
Like, I’d be lying if I said I am not interested in where these (bullshit) lawsuits go, it just gets tiring that most threads are still about the beef in some way

I can understand not being a fan of the stan wars, that I get. But it also groups the people that genuinely just wanna see how this plays and all the lore behind it to explain to someone who asks “so wait, what’s going on? Cause I’m hearing a lot about this and really wanna know” as opposed to telling them just google it. How conversation about cultural moments used to go, idk

It’s the biggest beef in hiphop history and battling is a part of hiphop…

I get your lil white bois can’t even put together a solid 16, but calm down with the gaslighting

  • Nov 28, 2024

when will be the next time we get a battle of this caliber?

That’s fair. I’m not trying to dog anyone for being interested in it or talking about it, I just wish there were more discussions too.
Although, I feel like that can relate to where we are right now in hip hop culture.
So few artists are being daring, different, and honestly interesting that the beef and its aftermath is one of the only things left to talk about.
Edit: so few MAINSTREAM artists are being interesting. As always, if you look deeper, there are still great artists, but very few that everyone knows and can readily have a convo about.

I mean there’s been plenty of threads about other artist, the op of this thread has posted them, I’ve posted them and plenty other users here have every day, proper does all the time, we have threads about KTT artist that are popping on release day, we even now have a release thread shoutout my dawg provider

I think that this beef (again the biggest in history) just sticks out and has space for multiple threads that then make it appear like the other conversations aren’t happening

It’s also what kills me cause op is gaslighting cause niggas always engage in his threads about the artists he posts, whether through love or hate so I don’t get what the point of this thread is

I do feel you that the mainstream could be more interesting

Most Kendrick stans are just rebranded Kanye stans or Reddit immigrants that have hated on Drake for 10+ years and now have an excellent way to do so via Kendrick. Most Drake stans have parasocial relationships with him and many seem to be genuinely not mentally stable, they feel every attack on him as a personal attack on themselves.

That’s true; I agree this thread is pointless and kinda self defeating, even if I do think it has somewhat of a point; the point could have been left unsaid.
I don’t want to make anyone feel attacked, though. I think you’re right about the other threads too, and I try to check them out too.
Idk. I see why the beef is still popping, even if I’m kinda sick of it. I think more than anything complaining about it isn’t productive, which is why I don’t get this thread. I just knew op would get eaten alive, so I wanted to say that I at least see where he’s coming from
