Any regular horsehair brush will do. I brush my boots after every time i wear them. Consistent care is how you prevent them from neglect.

Whenever you are not using the shoes, add some wooden shoe trees - these are great to help your shoe's shape.
Also, never put your leather in any heat sources or a blowdryer. That will cause cracks to your leather.

If you have any salt or stubborn stains, a 2:1 mix of water and vinegar + a cloth should get rid of them.

I use Renapur Leather Balsam for conditioning + polishing my leather boots.

I was trying to buy a horse hair brush on Amazon, but I keep seeing reviews about shedding, where did you get yours?
Also thanks for the Balsam I was looking at Saphir, but was wondering if there was something cheaper

I bought mine from ebay, had it since last year and it has been good so far. I think some sellers in amazon & ebay have poor QC in their products so it tends to be hit & miss.

Another tip is to find out your leather finish. Certain products like Renapur aren't good for certain leather finishes.
