Prayer. Prayer. Prayer. I’ve learned that depression is deep down my inner child/soul isn’t satisfied. By repenting first then engaging in prayer and fasting, God has really cured me being down. He’ll even warn me about when I’m about to start grieving.

Last week was the first time I’ve been down since 2015. I literally felt as if someone was dying but I couldn’t understand why. God warned me last Monday that I’d be down all weekend and that’s exactly what happened. Through prayer and listening he gave me wisdom.

It was literally an hour ago He gave me a new path that I’m going down and it’s looks to be brighter than ever. I’m excited to start this wave and enjoy the ride. Cowabunga! Lol

    Any kind of meditative practice

I have a negative tendency to tune things out, but I always end up feeling, better, in a way, if I lean in all the way, and just feel it, in a quiet, loving manner. It’s hard, but it’s worth the work. Changing your perspective on pain I think is the key

    Find the triggers
Understand them and make some changes to break the cycle.
Nothing will change if you don't change yourself first.

  • OP I suggest trying to figure out what the root cause is for your depression. You really need to be honest with yourself and accept the harsh realizations. Confiding into people who you trust and letting them know how you feel also has been a good positive for me. It also helps to accept that these feelings are normal and you’re not the only one going through it

  • Also do things that make you happy. I’ve been going on walks lately and they’ve really helped me and it’s a double positive since you’re getting good exercise in

    What's your beard regimine pancakes

so i will preface by saying i’m not an expert but i mentioned that because it’s what recently helped me feel better about myself / help me out of a depression rut. i am pretty new at actually taking care of a beard lol. but this is what i learned from various beard youtubers:

    • i have a beard washing routine where i variate each day washing it with beard shampoo / conditioner / rinse. some days i do both, some days just conditioner, some days just shampoo, some days just rinse. i use shampoo / conditioner specifically made for beards

    • in the mornings, i shower and get the beard to a nice dampen/towel dry then i comb it, put beard oil on it, wait 5 minutes, then put beard balm in it then i comb it again, and then sometimes brush it

    • at night if i shower i put oil and beard butter in it, if i don’t shower i get it wet (damp) and put beard butter in it and go to sleep

    • as a side note i also have small hair trimming scissors that i use to trim fly aways / split ends

i used to have a pretty wirey/dry beard that was hard to control, now it stays consistently soft and is actually forming some type of shape lol. its definitely not perfect but it’s a start for sure
