Why isn’t there an option for native accounts to begin with?
True that. Seems a bit weird.

data collection 😈
data collection 😈
Like you think the info is being sold or what do you mean
nah in all actuality, im pretty sure its actually more secure than the site having its own login system. i think you can change your login to a different gmail or twitter but thats about it

just s***posting lol. i think all ktt gets on their end is a useless scrambled key when you login to help point it to the right account

That's true, but it seems like some of our arbitrary data is being held hostage...
Should’ve read the terms and conditions, the site legally owns your soul now.
wtf

Nah people can hack ur sht
Nah people can hack ur sht
i mean technically people could hack your ktt account too plus twitter and google both offer great 2 factor authentication
Yes as people said it's more secure than having our own login system, and we only get your email address. (For Twitter we get your twitter ID).
We'll have sign in with Apple soon which is very privacy-focused. You'll be able to switch to that if you wish. You can also switch to Twitter.
@op What option would you prefer, and what site/platform uses it?
(We really don't care about your email address btw. No one can see it on the site anywhere, it's stored in the database)

Not sure what you mean but someone would need to hack your Twitter or gmail to log in. Make sure you have 2fa on your Twitter/Google/Apple.

I wish that you guys would've kept native logins just because I'm a bit weary of my Gmail being connected
But it's all good. No worries. Thanks for responding

What is your concern? It doesn't mean anyone has access to your emails.
Your bigger privacy concern should be using a Google account in the first place.
So who can see the database
The developer/founder who is legally bound by the terms of the privacy policy as well as the GDPR and the CCPA.
Very few platforms don't require an email address or something similar to sign up with, this is to prevent abuse and spam. We actually take privacy very seriously. You sign up with Google and your email address is stored in the database so that you can log back in. That's it. Compare this to many outdated forums which share your email address, IP address, and other information with any moderator...
The real privacy concern is being tracked by Facebook/Google/Twitter, and we're working on ways to prevent them tracking people with their embeds. E.g., YouTube doesn't load until you click it, and Instagram embeds have been disabled for now. We will have a custom Twitter embed at some point, and an option to show YouTube in a new window without Google/Youtube knowing where you came from.
If you're really concerned about signing up with your email on here you're free to use a burner gmail or Twitter. You can also view the site as a guest.
And make sure you're not using Google Chrome if you have concerns like these.

I’m not arguing or getting spicy, but your last two posts were very contradictory, you said it doesn’t mean anyone has access to your emails, then stated that the developer/founder can see the database.
That would be you correct?

Miscommunication/confusion around the word "email".
I'm referring to the the ktt2.com database where things like posts are stored. We only get your email address. Google doesn't give out your Inbox when you sign up. That would be crazy.
Since the actual email addresses are useless besides being used to let you log in again (ie we don't sell them or use them for marketing purposes) I see no reason why they shouldn't be stored as irreversible anonymous hashes in the database, and I've made a note about that.
Like I said, data privacy is important.
And I highly recommend switching to "Sign in with Apple" when that option is available.
Thanks.
