I used to listen to new music based on how much discussion it was generating on KTT and it was actually a good filter. But now y’all don’t even discuss music, it’s just drama threads. What should I do now?
Having/developing taste.
KTT really did used to put me onto newer artists every now n then back in the day, but even then it wasn't always good. You are your own filter mane.
damn you probably missed out on a lot of great music if KTT discussion was your sole source.
just look up what's coming out every week, look at prod credits to see if anyone you like is involved. s***, sometimes i play an album just because i like the artwork.

But I don’t have time to listen through a s***ty album multiple times over before I decide if I like it(it typically takes 3 listens)
And what do I even use as my source, like browse Apple Music new releases?

Sounds like a lot of work. I just want someone to tell me what to check out.
Take everything you read at face value and come to your own conclusion after hearing it for yourself. Then after try to have a valid discussion about it. I wouldn’t only rely on KTT for that I just use the threads as a general consensus and then form my own opinion.

Pigeons & planes is a good one. They post diverse stuff too
You don’t Bc music is subjective most of the time and what’s bad to most could be amazing to you

i hope you figure it out.
Find music without using KTT
I don't look for music anymore. I just hear some s*** playing in the background and look it up Or go to a physical record store and check out the new releases -- not to be pretentious, but there is a bigger barrier to entry to getting your record pressed up and distributed that usually guarantees some level of quality.
Trying to find good new music solely on the internet is like dumpster diving now, because there is an enormous abundance of it and just too much garbo to sift through.
On SoundCloud there's related songs for each track that's usually where I find the fire s***, like find a good song as a jumpoff point an dive into the related tracks
develop your own taste. Its easier than ever to discover things. The streaming apps literally do it for you. You jusy need to spend time listening. might find you dont care for music as mich as you thought if you wont even go out and develop your own taste
