What are some of the telltale signs that somebody is lying to you? What do y'all usually look for?

I just keep asking questions so the liar digs a deeper hole with every answered question and starts to struggle keeping the lie and truth seperated, kinda satisfying to do ngl.

Spotting a liar is pretty difficult for most people

You can usually see it in their eyes

depends on the lie. if it's some lie to self glorificate themselves it's easier to tell rather than a mundane lie about nothing of interest

you can see it in their eyes, body movement, if they slip on follow up questions then and during later encounters. if you're dealing with someone who lies and is mentally sharp it's hard to tell.

a person's character is also important. are they trustworthy? have they pulled similar s*** earlier?

I got a friend who loves acting like he knows everything/knew about s*** before everyone when half the time he just talking out of his ass to have a word in the convo and act like he knows more than he does and it’s gotten to a point where it’s lowkey annoying so recently whenever he says some s*** that I know isn’t true I just google what he says and call him out on it

follow up questions never fail me. after a couple of those, the story usually stops making sense and u can pressure the person about it lol
