Listening to Life After Death rn and while I was listening to Mo Money a thought came to me. Seeing as Biggie is the artist most associated with Combs and vice versa (excluding Pac obviously) assuming something comes out that implicates Big in Puffys crimes how would it affect how the wider hip hop landscape views arguably the best or 2nd best rapper to ever live?
not unless anything comes out, like if, knock on wood, biggie and diddy did something together
Other than that no, I think big was a victim of diddy, and escalated the beef between him and pac, it’s becoming more apparent as we find out things
I mean Biggie was saying wild s*** on the albums as it is. I think if anything were to have come out about a dude who died in his 20’s 30 years ago it would have already

True especially the part about Big being a victim, I don’t think he was a victim in terms of some freaky s*** (hopefully) but more so in terms of finances, from what I hear Puff owned like 50/60% of his publishing and allegedly Biggie wanted to leave Bad Boy.
I will say I f***ing hate the diddy adlibs on ready to die. Whenever I hear em now cuz that’s still one of my favourite albums if not the best rap album close to my heart

One of the few things I can give Diddy credit for is keeping Bigs legacy alive after he passed (posthumous releases, the movie and tributes) so now that he’s going to prison the Bad Boy machine can’t really keep pushing his legacy (not saying that it’s not cemented but I think you get what I mean)
nostalgia defeats morals every time unfortunately
there’s people who’ll say “so and so music is bad” then in the same sentence say “can’t have (event) without (said artists) song playing!”

The problem is that Diddy is f***ing all over the music
He was always the worst part of Biggie’s songs and I’ll be honest it has gotten more annoying.
We’ll always look back fondly though. I’m really interested to see if any more details come out wrt his death now

Yeah and just making I will be missing you.. like he was still able to churn out what he could post death but it’s all looking shakey to me now. The movie wasn’t good but they found a great actor, I was so young when that came out
But i learned and wanted to learn more from that movie alone, I was 13

I think I can only name a handful of Biggie songs that don’t have some sort of Puffy adlibs/feature. It was always annoying but now that we have confirmation (we always kinda knew) that he’s a creep I REALLY don’t wanna hear that.
Gen Z’s cancelling Biggie??
he ruined biggie's legacy way before this now everything is just catching up to him sorry
Won't affect it in the slightest. Top 2 rapper of all time, regardless. Diddy was instrumental in his run

this is what ruins Hate me now for me. Such amazing verses by Nas and then suddenly Diddy wont cease to shut the f*** up on the hook
