2023 has been a crazy year for gaming. I haven’t even scratched the surface! I still wanna play RE4, Jedi Survivor, and the list goes on and on.
How is everyone dealing with their backlog this year, especially when games are dropping left and right?
Just thinking about my backlog stresses me out I'm still on PS4 and feel like I have way too many games. I don't even have time for the s*** anymore, have no idea how people can balance a career and gaming
Last game I bought was TLOU 2 and I'm not even halfway through TLOU 1. S*** just sits on my shelf, still wrapped in plastic, collecting dust
well I’ve got good news, you can skip Jedi Survivor
Tried to force (no pun intended) myself to finish the first one because I spent so much time downloading it and it's taking a lot of storage space on my PS4. But I went back to a planet for a mission and the map/exploration system is so ass I can't do it, my time is too valuable to waste it on that mid

This why I only buy 1 game until I finish it lol by the time I do the latest games that I had on my wish list have already gone on sale and I literally save hundreds by not buying day 1

I never buy games new, the dollar is like 18x my currency. Imagine spending 1200 on a video game Last games I bought new were Spiderman and RDR2, and even that was only because of Black Friday deals
The problem is I see a game for like 400 (about $20), cop because it's a steal and Idk if I'll find that game at that price again. This happened multiple times, now I'm sitting with like 30+ unplayed video games
I play one game at a time and buy only one to two games at a time
I play a game about every few months and theres no multiplayer game i play consistently besides Yugioh Master Duel on Switch here and there - so im also not taking up time with online games
I beat most of my games
Idk its not hard imo just stick to a game and dont buy in bulk the games arent going anywhere

Also I always play what interests me the most first
I dont care about playing every single little game out there - i did when i was tounger to a degree but not anymore as a grown adult
I just stick to what genuinely interests me and it helps a lot with playing through a game or focusing on one
I was on a Zelda n Pikmin 4 binge for a while n now im onto Armored Core 6
And before the Nintendo games I didnt touch a game since Hogwarts way back earlier

Totally get where u coming from that fomo mixed with the unrelenting desire to play the latest and newest s*** but at that point u just gotta say u gon lay back finish the games that u already have in ur backlog and by that time the initial hype u had for a game wanes and u can actually think in terms of will this game actually be worth ur time or not not go off based on the buzz it’s getting now
Unless u a specific type of person who just needs the newest s*** they can get their hands on, paying full price for a game is hardly ever worth it, exception being a game you’ve been patiently waiting to drop for years i.e. gta 6 is a day 1 cop
You don’t have to play every game. Play what you want. Be more strict with your choices.
You don’t

That fomo is something I rarely get Had it with Spiderman, I was watching gameplay in my college classes and s***. But after finishing a game in like 12 hours that I spent 800 bucks on, I never let that feeling get to me again
So yeah, I really don't need new games. I'll always wait a few years. GTA 6 might be the exception, depending on my financial situation when it drops
It's so easy to avoid spoilers, I never understood that argument. I still don't know what happens in TLOU
Gaming shouldn't feel like a chore
Buy 1 or 2 games at a time. If you're not excited to play it and don't really enjoy it, drop it and resell it if it's a physical copy
Time is too precious
