songwriting is not just a technical skill, but Jay-Z has written so many great songs and hooks and is arguably the greatest rapper of all time too, and he has much more interesting subject matter than Eminem over his career

Hov makes it look/sound easy and until post 4:44 never sounded like he was trying too hard while also delivering classic verses and having the lore/perception of writing it all in his head

Eminem can be very choppy and wordy hence his coffee pot being awfully hot

Jay has the edge as a songwriter over Em because he can write hooks consistently well. Em has some classic ones, but Jay has him beat there pretty easily.

Including Em and Ye in your list is a very interesting choice lmao
