"In 2012, Jay-Z contacted GOOD Music producer Hit-Boy about working together on Magna Carta Holy Grail. Hit-Boy created the instrumental for "Somewhereinamerica", a song that was initially supposed to appear on the debut album of Grand Hustle artist Travis Scott. While in the studio with Jay-Z, Scott played the instrumental for him and Jay-Z instantly liked it.16 The instrumental for the song "Crown" was made by 16-year-old Canadian producer WondaGurl. She had collaborated with Travis Scott on his Owl Pharaoh mixtape and went on to produce another track for his upcoming album. Scott liked the instrumental and started to build upon it with Mike Dean. The two then gave it to Jay-Z who recorded "Crown" over it.15

if Wikipedia is to be believed he didn't make the whole thing. he had it and added to it w/ mike dean

Idiot hit-boy wasn’t on the final credits next time don’t believe everything on Wikipedia I thought they told you this in school. Hit-Boy probably had a piece of the beat was bought by either travis or mike dean looks like travis did most of the beat to me... plus travis did most the beats for cruel summer and alittle bit for yeezus. imgur.com/gallery/A1LfYOY

"I was at home one day looking for reggae samples for a while and I finally found this one that was crazy," she explains. "And I took it and I cut it up and I put it in the software FL Studio. I started building around it, adding 808s and the more I built, the more I knew what I wanted. After that, I knew I wanted to send it to Travi$ Scott."

WondaGurl's plan worked. A few days afterwards he Travi$ messaged me saying he's about to change my life and then a few days later he told me I was on Jay-Z's album," the teen continued.

the hit boy story is to add context to how Wondagurl and travis got involved in the album. it clearly says the song hit boy produced wasn't on the album and it was supposed to be on travis's album

Yea still doesn’t mean you’re right travis always wanted to work with wondagurl and he still finished it and got the credits on the track

  • Now Travis is a sellout/idiot since he got with Kylie as well as Kanye getting with Kim.... but getting with Kim has more rep since she’s a world wide icon just like Ye. Travis isn’t even hanging with Kylie half the time so. Travis screwed over Jason his classmate by stealing beats from him aka OG Chess and now he’s not even known of anymore

  • Now everyone knows of travis and thinks they know everything about him and it legit pisses the OG fans off since Crusin’ USA the mixtape or The classmates EP tape
