Dec 9, 2021AP3Often the rappers who are generally discussed at the top are the ones who stay in the listeners ear. Rap is a genre that if you take forever drop projects people will forget about them. Therefore rap has always been like a competitive sport. Kendrick can’t act like he’s above it because he put out that Control verse. Challenging everyone else to step up and rap right. Well how about himself?
It also benefits the artist, Drake and Future are artist who drop more often. Sure they may not have a flawless discography, but their older music is remembered and revered more amongst the culture. From my experience, there is a different reaction from when people play old Drake/Future then Kendrick.

Sure every art, sport, and even business is going to have a competitive element to it. Especially hip-hop considering the early days of DJ battles and the rap battles that evolved out of that. But the problem is people nowadays are competing on bahalf of the artist themselves 😂 and don’t even know what they are competing for!
Like, how do y’all determine what competition Kendrick is in? Obviously just looking from the outside in his goal was to create the best music/albums he possibly can and he’s done that. If we talking a competition of who has the best discog he’s washing everyone in his generation and 99% of rappers ever. If we talking about a competition of commercial success or consistent output Drake obviously wins that competition by a landslide and Kendrick doesn’t come close.
But this idea of there being this imaginary position at “the top” that every one who decides to become a rapper needs to struggle to attain is utter stan created non-sense. It’s just an arbitrary idea and it’s doesn’t mean anything unless you apply it to something specific.
Kendrick has been at “the top” of the game as far as classic rap albums are concerned since the beginning of his career and until he starts dropping mid or someone else decides to go a creative run like that he will continue to have that respect as the top quality guy. Drake and Future have been at “the top”/ as far as success and consistent good to great music is concerned. It’s too different conversations. People need to understand what they are arguing about before they start posting bullshit (not you ijs)

So here's what happened. I don't remember what the original thread was about but on the first page it already got derailed
Durkio had this nubian queen as his avi and I thought she was bad af so he said it was just some model on Instagram and I put a picture of her for my avi to. Nothing different from every other nigga on here and g&g does everyday. I don't remember who but some random nigga comes in the thread saying its his sister and she's 16. Suddenly the whole thread is on our ass and he dips off without any context or clarifying.
We're both asking for proof but the thread is ready to kill us and its filled with the usual lame ass haters. Finally we find her Twitter and Instagram because we just Google image search the pictures and she must did other shoots. We find tweets of her talking about taking shots at the bar, college, flying all over and celebrating her nigga's 22nd birthday. Suddenly this 16 s*** don't add up but the goalposts moved to "your weird for having someone you don't know as your avi" as if half the site isn't full of basic ass white hoes from onlyfans and ig as their avi's.
The mods nuke the thread and I think Durkio got banned over that or something because I haven't seen him post since
