Battle rap in Eminem's day was dudes pretending they were freestyling 45 seconds at a time over beats. They'd show up with like half a sixteen in their pocket. It was so trash.

Interscope records had way more to do with the sources demise in that rap beef alledgedly.
Also, eminem complained about not being rated high enough, benzino had actual moral reasons not to fuxk with eminem
