The thing about Eminem slander is that’s it’s WAY too late to challenge his place in music history. The narrative is already set in stone.

Michael Jackson will always be the quintessential pop artist, no matter what kind of amazing music future generations of pop artists drop.

The Beatles will always be considered THE rock band, even if they’re not your favorite.

Michael Jordan will always be the greatest basketball player, even if another player beats all his records and achievements.

and Eminem — like it or not — will be considered the GOAT of rap by the worldwide masses when it’s all said and done. Even if he doesn’t have the most classics or the most innovative songs or whatever.

and that’s simply because his music has touched more people worldwide than any other rapper. There’s just no way around it.

The GOATs in every mainstream music genre are beloved enough to sell out stadiums (not arenas — stadiums). Hip-Hop, the biggest genre in the world, has only produced ONE stadium act in nearly 50 years. Guess who?

Prince is my personal favorite. I believe he’s the greatest artist in the history of popular music, but I know that most people will never put him above Michael Jackson.

    It’s too late.

    Lol

I think Em making 8 mile to kinda create the legend about his battling come up def had a huge effect on people thinking that

  • Aug 9, 2020

There's footage of him doing that back in the day but he wasn't poppin like that enough, I don't know how big battle rap was commercially back in the mid-late 90s

Nowadays its a whole industry in itself

  • Aug 9, 2020

Loaded Lux and Daylyt still battle rapping to this day, whereas Em did it further back in the day and i guess created a buzz that way/got into some circles that led to him starting a career idk

Or whatever he was doing 2 pay for studio time i keep thinking about the movie though I gotta watch that s*** again

I'm a 61 black male, I listen to all kinds of music, rap included. There 3 components in rapping. Articulation, Speed and the most important CREATIVITY. Em is excellent in all 3 but his creativity is like no other. The creation of his Alter Ego Slim Shady is genius. Then to solidify his Genius, he raps about issues he went through while growing up. Now, that in itself is TOTAL GENIUS. Some may not like his style of rap, its fine. I just want to point out the Superior Talent Em possesses

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Eminem. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical listeners head. There's also Em’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Dr dre literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike eminem truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in em’s existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Marshall mathers genius wit unfolds itself before them, What fools.. how I pity them. 😂

And yes, by the way, i do have a slim shady tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎

Interscope records had way more to do with the sources demise in that rap beef alledgedly.
Also, eminem complained about not being rated high enough, benzino had actual moral reasons not to fuxk with eminem
I think he was on some
"I'm not giving white boy more promo when the white corporations already back him but leave most black rappers in the dust, fuxk him."
Then he found out white boy was racist and "fuxk him forever now" lol

Benzino's diss should be respected by the culture to be honest and k-rino s diss towards em (years later) too

More rappers should have went at em's neck for those racist tapes but interscope records, aftermath records, dr dre and em were too powerful I guess, idk

    That’s crazy
