essentially the “gay voice” is compensation, a way to fit in to a new category outside of just masculine men and feminine women. It’s also a way to be seen as what they are, and recognize one another. pretty straightforward stuff idk

Thought about this a while ago, but so many gay men just start sounding like exaggerated black women out of nowhere.

I guess that makes sense in the scheme of things, just the only sub populous that all seems uniform in that way.
