Like no matter where in the country they're from they have the same 'accent' and mannerisms, and I just don't understand how that's possible just simply off your sexual orientation 🤔

Not accent perse but you know what I mean, that's why I said mannerisms

They're just effeminate, if I had to guess it's like a primal human thing yknow, if you want to sexually attract a man it'd be something of a natural instinct to act more feminine (?)

essentially the “gay voice” is compensation, a way to fit in to a new category outside of just masculine men and feminine women. It’s also a way to be seen as what they are, and recognize one another. pretty straightforward stuff idk

Thought about this a while ago, but so many gay men just start sounding like exaggerated black women out of nowhere.

I guess that makes sense in the scheme of things, just the only sub populous that all seems uniform in that way. Like a woman you wouldn't know right off the back if she's lesbian or not besides maybe ones that try to go for a more masculine appearance but seldom does it manifest itself in tone and mannerisms I feel like.

women can communicate through the mycelium network underground so they don't need a gay voice that's why

This. Which is part of what prompted the question cause it's EVERYWHERE. But plants take makes sense I suppose in the sense you can instantly tell a gay man, which is weird because simply liking a different gender shouldn't make much of a difference one would think but it does

There was a distinct and expressive gay culture that arose in the 1960’s in response to the severe backlash the increasing amount of open gayness had in public

LGBT people all congregated in popular areas and developed lingo, inflections, and customs that created a culture

The accent isn’t really originated from that community but rather the black ballroom community that preceded it

for some its a form of expression and if you think thats weird than I just wanna point out basically every straight man I know also changes his way of speaking and his voice to sound more masculine.

Still doesn’t give them the pass to play a character of a black woman

    S***s weird and annoying
